Television is coming to your cell phone. USA TODAY says local television is coming to cell phones later this year. Programming will include local news, sports, weather, the typical boring crap that the newsie outfits are struggling to crank out now. The good news is that this technology with be adopted by other platforms and its just another way to distribute content. We already have folks watching our videos on the dedicated Youtube App for the iPhone as we as other Smart phones and hand held gadgets that can play videos. So while this early phone/TV train wreck doesn't sound like the coolest announcement of the week, it does offer content creators something to look forward to in terms of distribution and exhibition. Plus DP's will sleep comfortably knowing that what they see in the viewfinder of the camera will pretty much be what is seen on the 2 - 3 inch screen. Not really but kinda.
Viral Video Wannabe has an excellent article about dealing with "writers block" for video makers that post and upload videos on a schedule. I have always dismissed writers block as a weak excuse for not knowing enough about what you are writing or in this case vlogging about. Whatevs. It happens.
Canon has released a firmware update for that pricey 5D Mark II that was getting black dots or whatever the nerds were screaming about. Early adopters = parachute testers.
